Vibe Check

You built an app with AI, but you're not a developer. These three skills check it for security holes and make it look and feel professional. Copy one, paste it into Claude, done.

How it works

Three steps, no setup

Each skill is a block of text. Your AI tool does the work.

01

Copy a skill

Pick the one you need and press Copy. It's plain text, nothing to install.

02

Paste it into your AI tool

Open the tool you built your app with, such as Claude, and paste it in. If the tool can't see your app's files, paste those in too.

03

Follow what it tells you

Security gives you a list of problems, worst first, each with a fix. The two design skills guide the AI while it builds, so your app looks and feels professional.

What's inside

Three skills, one paste each

Not sure which one? Start with the question that worries you most.

  • Worried your app could leak customer data? Paste Security.
  • Does it look like every other AI-made page? Paste Frontend Design.
  • Works, but feels clunky to use? Paste User Interface and User Experience.

Security

Finds the holes AI-built apps ship with. Leaked passwords, missing logins, open databases.

Covers

  • Passwords and keys left where anyone can find them
  • Pages and features anyone can open without logging in
  • Whether customers can see each other's data
  • Database settings that keep each person's data private
  • Forms that accept junk, and limits on how often they can be hit
  • Plain-language findings, worst first, each with a fix

Best for: Any app with real customers, real data, or a login.

Frontend Design

Stops your app looking like every other AI-made page. Deliberate colours, fonts and layout.

Covers

  • A look that fits your business, not a template
  • Fonts that give the page its personality
  • The tell-tale signs of an AI-made page, so the AI avoids them
  • Plan it, check it against the brief, build it, then look again
  • Less is more, with one memorable thing and everything else calm
  • The words on your buttons and screens

Best for: Any screen your customers will judge on looks.

About 5 minutes

User Interface and User Experience

A design plan before you build, and the ten things a design reviewer checks, in order of importance.

Covers

  • Working out who the app is for before designing anything
  • A written design plan saved with your app, so every page matches
  • Ten rules in order of importance, with the mistakes to avoid
  • Text and labels that still fit on a phone
  • A final checklist before you show it to anyone
  • Where to get the full searchable version

Best for: New pages, new features, or an app that works but feels clunky.

Example

What you get back

A shortened example of what the Security skill found in a small task-manager app built with AI.

  1. HIGHYour database master key is visible to anyone

    Where: lib/supabase.ts, line 4

Why: Anyone who knows where to look can read and delete every record in your database.

Fix: Move the key to a private setting on your server. Give the app a limited key for everyday use. Turn on the database setting that keeps each customer's data private (row-level security).

  2. MEDIUMThe admin page has no login check

    Where: app/api/admin/users/route.ts

Why: Anyone who guesses the web address gets your full customer list.

Fix: Check that the person is logged in before showing anything. Only let admins open this page.

  3. LOWThe sign-up form saves whatever it's sent

    Where: components/SignupForm.tsx

Why: Someone could fill your database with junk.

Fix: Check the name and email are valid before saving them.

Do this first

  1. Change the database master key.
  2. Turn on the private-data setting (row-level security).
  3. Add the login check to the admin page.

Who made this

Made by an engineer, for people who aren't one

Diego Freitas

Diego Freitas

Founder & Lead Engineer

Diego spent fifteen years building the platforms behind some of Australia's most recognised brands — Qantas, Coles, Tabcorp, Gumtree and Macy's. He rebuilt Qantas's direct booking platform: its first release cleared 49,000+ cancellations, processed A$17.4M+ in transactions and slashed call-centre volume. His subscription work at Coles lifted engagement 30%. He founded eSoftware Solutions to bring that enterprise engineering to growing Australian businesses — starting every engagement by diagnosing where margin leaks, not by pitching technology.
